Whoop Dee Doo is a Kansas City based artist collective which produces a faux children's television show. They are unapologetically in your face, over the top and just plain ridiculous. The shows are usually themed and the sets and 'tv program' are created in collaboration with kids, artists and volunteers. Think talent show meets japanese game show. Think drag queens and r&b bagpipes.
It's just a thought but an episode of Whoop Dee Doo, on the apology could be humorous, relatively cheap (they employ affordable materials for their set) and used to activate the collaborative section of the exhibition. The set could be built over time through the exhibition, students and visitors could be asked to help, a show performed one or two nights, and the remains left for the rest of the exhibition. The collective is young and perhaps more used to working with small budgets than others on our list, yet not inexperienced. When the show travels, it is to my understanding the entire collective featured online does not usually go along.
Just a thought. A crazy one.
